by contributor on Aug.23, 2010, under Technology

During a personal discussion with an additional individual, it is not just what you say that counts. It’s also the way you say it. If you are angry you will most likely shout. If you are pleased you’ll smile. If you’re left without anything to say you will throw your hands within the air. Windows emoticons developed out from the need to have some thing similar during an online discussion. A method to let another individual know how you really really feel about all this.

What exactly is definitely an emoticon? Merely put, it is small icon which you are able to insert into your online conversations to convey your feelings at that moment. If what another persons says causes you to smile, then why not include a little smiling icon towards the conversation?

Stefanía Fernández - Miss Universe 2009 Miss Universe is an annual international beauty contest run by the Miss Universe Organization.  The pageant is one of the most publicized beauty contests in the world with 600 million viewers.

The contest was founded in 1952 by California clothing company Pacific Mills. The pageant became part of Kayser-Roth and then Gulf and Western Industries, before being acquired by Donald Trump in 1996.

In 1998, Miss Universe changed its name from Miss Universe, Inc. to Miss Universe Organization and the headquarters moved from Long Beach, Los Angeles to New York City that year. Donald Trump brought in a new team of professionals to the contest headed by its new CEO, Molly Miles, and president Maureen Reidy.

Miles coined the slogan “Redefined for Today” for promotion of the pageants. That year, the new Miss Universe logo was born: The Woman with the Stars, which is still used today. (continue reading…)

David Blaine (born David Blaine White; April 4, 1973) is an American illusionist and endurance artist. He is best known for his high-profile feats of endurance, and has made his name as a performer of street and close-up magic.  He has set and broken several world records. Theatre owner James Nederlander as well as The New York Times have referred to Blaine as a modern day Houdini.

Blaine was born David Blaine White in Brooklyn, New York and is of Puerto Rican descent on his father’s side, and Russian Jewish on his mother’s. His mother, Patrice Maureen White (1946–1995), was a school teacher living in New York, and his father William Perez was a Vietnam veteran. Piranha

by carter on Aug.19, 2010, under Anything

piranha A piranha or piraña is a member of family Characidae in order Characiformes, an omnivorous freshwater fish that inhabits South American rivers. In Venezuela, they are called caribes. They are known for their sharp teeth and a voracious appetite for meat.

Piranhas belong to the subfamily Serrasalminae, which also includes closely related omnivorous fish such as pacus. Traditionally, only the four genera Pristobrycon, Pygocentrus, Pygopristis and Serrasalmus are considered to be true piranhas, due to their specialized teeth.

However, a recent analysis showed that, if the piranha group is to be monophyletic, it should be restricted to Serrasalmus, Pygocentrus and part of Pristobrycon, or expanded to include these taxa plus Pygopristis, Catoprion, and Pristobrycon striolatus. Pygopristis was found to be more closely related to Catoprion than the other three piranha genera. (continue reading…)
